AFCM Outreach Program

The AFCM Outreach Program provides opportunities for an emerging ensemble to give concerts and create a profile throughout the Festival. Through a series of workshops and performances at local secondary schools and theatres in the region, and led by Winterschool Director Lloyd van’t Hoff, the 2023 AFCM Outreach Program featured the 2022 Fellowship Ensemble, the Felix Quartet.

Throughout July and August 2023, Lloyd and the Felix Quartet performed at the World Theatre in Charters Towers, Tyto Amphitheatre in Ingham, the Burdekin Theatre in Ayr and at James Cook University plus special performances in the AFCM Festival Garden. 

The AFCM Outreach Program performers also held workshops at secondary schools throughout the region, visiting amongst others All Souls St Gabriels School, Ayr State High School, Blackheath & Thornburgh College, Charters Towers State School, Columba Catholic College, St Patrick's College, Cathedral School, Pimlico High School and Townsville Grammar School, where they mentored, inspired and chatted to students.
