Cairns Festival 2026: 28 Aug 2026 - 6 Sept 2026
Cairns Tourist Festival Cairns Festival was founded by the Cairns Regional Council on 26 May, 1962 with the highlight event being the grand opening of a new jetty on Green Island. This was the same time that the first annual Cairns Tourist Festival was established. Regional Queensland's most significant and fastest-growing community event, Cairns Festival has come a long way since then.

Legacy Archive Cairns Art Gallery was established in 1995 as an independent public art gallery to promote the unique heritage and living culture of North Queensland in the context of the world’s tropic zone and the Asia Pacific region.
