Brian Foster is Donald H. Perkins Professor of Experimental Physics at the University of Oxford and a Fellow of Balliol College. He completed his studies in London and Oxford before holding academic positions at Bristol, where he led the particle physics group, and later at Oxford. A leading figure in particle physics, he has held senior international roles including European Director for the International Linear Collider. His honours include Fellowship of the Royal Society, the Max Born Medal and an Alexander von Humboldt Professorship. Foster has also served as Vice-President of the Royal Society and was appointed an OBE.
