Sam Wu
Composer Sam Wu is praised for music that “abounds in delicate colours, wisps of sound and sylvan textures” (Gramophone). A recipient of major awards such as the ASCAP Morton Gould Young Composer Award, Sam has held residencies at Zion National Park and the Australian Festival of Chamber Music. His collaborations span five continents, including with the Philadelphia Orchestra, Carnegie Hall, Cabrillo Festival, and conductors Osmo Vänskä, Marin Alsop, and Benjamin Northey. Originally from Melbourne, Sam holds degrees from Harvard, Juilliard and Rice, and is on faculty at Whitman College in the US.
