Karin Schaupp is one of Australia’s most distinguished guitarists, internationally acclaimed as a recitalist, concerto soloist and chamber musician. Renowned for her expressive artistry and commanding stage presence, she has inspired leading composers to write works especially for her. Highlights include performances with the London Philharmonic Orchestra, appearances at the Commonwealth Games and World Expo Japan, and international festival tours. Her ARIA Award–winning recordings for Warner Music and ABC Classics include landmark Australian guitar concertos. A recipient of the Freedman Fellowship and an Australia Council Music Fellowship, Karin is Head of Classical Guitar at the Queensland Conservatorium.
