Irina has had a long and distinguished career primarily as a chamber musician and also as principal viola in various major Australian orchestras. She was a foundation member of both the Australia Ensemble at UNSW and Goldner String Quartet with whom she performed in over 30 countries around the world and recorded extensively. Irina stepped down from full time performances in 2025 when the Goldners disbanded and still plays on a very fine AE Smith viola made for her teacher and Musica Viva’s founder, Richard Goldner.
