Dene Olding AM
Dene Olding is recognised as one of Australia’s most outstanding violinists. He was first violinist for the Goldner String Quartet and the Australia Ensemble @UNSW until 2025 and is Concertmaster Emeritus of the Sydney Symphony Orchestra. Dene currently serves on the Board of the Queensland Symphony Orchestra and is President of the Great Barrier Reef Orchestra based in Townsville. He is also Chair of the Australian Music Foundation as well as a member of various Advisory Councils and from 2026 will teach two talented students at the Sydney Conservatorium High School. In addition, he has many solo and recording credits to his name with major conductors and orchestras including many world premieres. He trained at the Juilliard School in New York and lives in Sydney with his wife Irina Morozova and son Nikolai.
