CONCERT CONVERSATIONS
These highly entertaining morning concerts begin with Artistic Director Jack Liebeck chatting to visiting Festival musicians about all sorts of fascinating personal and professional aspects of their lives. This is followed by a 45-minute performance. Enjoy tea & coffee beforehand.
RAY GOLDING SUNSET SERIES
Named after the founder of the Festival, these one-hour concerts are a terrific starting point for newcomers as well as a chance for those that know their music well to hear favourite works.
EVENING CONCERTS
The jewel in the crown each day of the Festival are these full-length concerts presenting a wonderful range of repertoire, from classic favourites to lesser-known works and exciting new commissions.
AFCM ILLUMINATES
Take the time to enrich your mind with presentations from leading speakers in the fields of music and science. AFCM combines lecture and performance for a deep dive quite like no other.
SPECIAL EVENTS
From the beloved AFCM Families concert to the luxury of the Annual AFCM Island Concert, AFCM's one-off and special events program has something for everyone.

Come along to one of the Festival’s FREE events, including the AFCM International Masterclasses, featuring the finest emerging talent in chamber music or the much-loved Annual Queens Gardens Concert.
AFCM INTERNATIONAL MASTERCLASSES
Watch live as our AFCM artists coach the AFCM International Masterclasses ensembles during a series of free public masterclasses held at the Ville Resort-Casino. The Masterclasses series and week-long tutelage program culminates in a fantastic concert later in the week.
AFCM OUTREACH TOUR
The AFCM 2024 Outreach Program tour features a series of workshops and performances at local secondary schools and theatres in the region, led by AFCM Winterschool Director Lloyd van’t Hoff, showcasing the talents of the AFCM Fellowship Ensemble.

Sunday, 27 July 2024 - AFCM Queens Gardens Concert
It is wonderful to be returning to Queens Gardens for our annual park concert co-presented by Townsville City Council. Gates will open at 3:00pm and we encourage music lovers from all walks of life to bring a picnic and a rug or some chairs and gather in the park for a FREE afternoon of wonderful music on the big stage.
The Barrier Reef Orchestra will feature in the line-up alongside visiting Festival musicians, including Artistic Director Jack Liebeck (violin). The Queens Gardens Concert is a fully licensed event, and while no BYO (alcohol) is permitted, you will find bar facilities, tea & coffee and light snacks on site.

AFCM Winterschool International Masterclasses
The AFCM Winterschool International Masterclasses are held during the Australian Festival of Chamber Music, and is an unforgettable experience for emerging musicians. Participants gain access to some of the world’s leading artists for lessons, masterclasses, mentoring and concerts.

AFCM Outreach Program
The AFCM Outreach program provides an extraordinary opportunity for one of our outstanding Advanced International Masterclass ensembles to return to the Festival as working musicians.
In 2024 the Outreach Tour features a series of workshops and performances at local secondary schools and theatres in the region, led by Winterschool Director Lloyd van’t Hoff, showcasing the talents of the AFCM Fellowship Ensemble.
The Outreach tour will be visiting schools and theatres in, amongst others the Burdekin, Charters Towers and Ingham, with a final performance at James Cook University.
