About this event:
A wonderfully entertaining morning with Artistic Director Kathyrn Stott chatting to visiting Festival Artists including Timothy Young, Adam Walker, Mark Gaydon, Jan-Erik Gustafsson, Marianna Shirinyan and Tai Murray about their lives and inspirations. This is followed by a delightful concert.
About this event:
This is a wonderful opportunity to watch an AFCM artist coach some of the country's emerging professionals in an hour long public masterclass. Free to attend.
About this event:
For lovers of Baroque music this is for you. Diana Doherty particularly wanted to perform the Duet by W.F.Bach with Adam Walker and so begins this journey back in time. Our very own Winterschool strings take to the stage with pianist Kevin Chow but be ready for the Devil to put in an appearance. Italian magic at its best!
About this event:
The culmination of this program is the great Metamorphosen by Strauss. Our Artistic Director believes this to be one of the most moving chamber works in the repertoire and the musical references to Beethoven add to its emotional depth. However, this concert refers to change and we think you'll be astonished by both the Mendelssohn and sparkling Ligeti miniatures. Add in some delicate Asian flavour and Poulenc's reference to Mozart and this will be a musical rollercoaster.
